The Cochin Shipyard Ltd (CSL) has become the third Indian shipyard to sign a Master Shipyard Repair Agreement (MSRA) with the US. This will allow the state-run shipbuilding unit in Kochi to repair US naval ships under the Military Sealift Command. Last year, two other shipyards—the Larsen & Toubro Kattupalli and Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders—signed a similar vessel repair agreement with the US Navy.


Days after Canada accused India of meddling in its elections, a panel of senior Canadian officials monitoring the 2021 elections in the country have said that they were not informed of any attempt by India at influencing those national polls. While the accusations against India were rejected, a document prepared by the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) said that China interfered in the Canadian general elections in both 2019 and 2021.


The 5th meeting of the India-Kazakhstan Joint Working Group on Counter-Terrorism was held in Astana on Monday. At the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on terrorist threats in their respective regions and state-sponsored, cross-border terrorism in South Asia. They held discussions on the use of technology by terrorists and highlighted the importance of strengthening counter-terrorism cooperation.

At the request of Ukraine and Russia, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will convene an emergency session on Thursday to address the assaults on the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. Both nations have accused each other of launching drone attacks on the facility. The IAEA reported that drones targeted the plant, located in southern Ukraine and under Russian control, damaging one reactor building. The agency has refrained from assigning blame but has called for an end to such assaults.
